Another round of thefts from unlocked vehicles was reported in Jefferson City.
This time, authorities reported as many as eight vehicles were hit in the 100 to 300 blocks of Tomahawk Road. It’s believed these occurred Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
Since last month, both Jefferson City police and the Cole County Sheriff’s Department have received numerous reports of these types of thefts but have yet to find any suspects.
The thefts have occurred across the area, so there is no one particular spot that has been targeted.
Authorities are asking residents to be vigilant and lock vehicles at night. In addition, remove anything of value from vehicles or keep those items out of plain sight.
