Manuel Machado was born June 9, 1954, in Graciosa in the Azores of Portugal to Jose and Maria Availa Machado. In his early years, Manuel was a dairy farmer in the Azores Islands. At the age of 26 he relocated to the United States to Peabody, Massi. where he took a job in a leather factory for seven years. Shortly thereafter, Manuel relocated to Hanford, Calif. to pursue farming jobs where he worked at dairies until 2010.
