Lincoln men to play at Missouri Western in MIAA Tournament
The Lincoln Blue Tigers are finding themselves in familiar territory, playing in the men's basketball postseason. For the sixth straight season, the Blue Tigers advanced to the MIAA Tournament, qualifying as the No. 6 seed. Lincoln is set to play tonight at No. 3 Missouri Western, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. in St. Joseph.

Dru Smith's last-second layup sends Missouri past Florida 72-70
With the game tied at 70 and less than 15 seconds to play, Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin trusted senior guard Dru Smith to get the game-winning bucket and drew up a play to get it done. "He was taking the ball to the rim," Martin said. "We were winning and losing with him making that decision, whatever it was." Smith did his job, driving from the right wing and banking a baseline reverse layup off the glass with 0.7 seconds left, and the Tigers held on to defeat Florida 72-70 on Wednesday night for the Tigers' first-ever win in Gainesville.

MU women open SEC Tournament today vs. Alabama
The Missouri women's basketball team got a solid win to cap off its regular season, beating a Mississippi State team projected to be a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament by 20 points on the road. Now the Tigers, with a new season in front of them, have an opportunity themselves to play into the tournament field in this weekend's Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Tipton girls reach quarterfinals with 70-53 win at South Callaway
Her first shot attempt was an indicator of the type of game Tipton's Myra Claas was going to have. Claas made a 3-pointer from the left wing for the game's first points — one of six made 3s for the sophomore — and the Tipton Lady Cardinals led wire-to-wire Wednesday in a 70-53 victory against the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs in the Class 3 sectionals.

Lincoln men end season with OT loss at Missouri Western
The Lincoln Blue Tigers led for nearly all 40 minutes of regulation Wednesday night. The Missouri Western Griffons then made the play of the game to force overtime, and then owned those extra five minutes. Reese Glover converted a four-point play with :07.9 remaining in the second half, tying the game at 70 to force overtime. The Griffons, who led for just :42 in regulation, led for most of overtime to steal an 84-76 win from the Blue Tigers in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.
