Kathleen May

Mrs. Kathleen Margaret May (nee: Connely) , age 87, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Warrenton, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. She was born on September 11, 1935 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late Charles Hawthorn and Bernice Catherine (nee: Cox) Connely. Kathleen was united in marriage to Donald William May on March 31, 1953 in Pocahontas, Ark.. They spent 67 wonderful years together before his passing in 2020. Kathleen worked as an LPN and was co-owner of "Kay's Collectables". She and her husband also owned May Service, which began in 1983 and her sons still operate today. Kathleen was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Cardinals, Blues and NASCAR. She was also a little league baseball, softball and soccer coach for many years. One of her favorite things was going to musical theatres. She also was an avid reader. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Those family members who will remain grateful for having shared in Kathleen's life are her children, Donna Deetz and husband Michel, Janice Wagner, Diane Kessler and husband Harry, Kenneth May and wife Annette, Charles "Skip" May and wife Denice; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one half sister, Barbara Connely; other relatives and many friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don; her parents, Charles and Bernice; her step-father, Herbert Pelham; and one son, Donald Jr. A Celebration of Kathleen's life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. The celebration service will begin at 12:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
