Bill Crane

Bill John Crane, 90, of California, Mo., passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Lee’s Summit Medical Ctr. in Lee’s Summit, Mo. He was born on March 20, 1932, in Versailles, Mo., the son of John D. and Anna Ruth (Francis) Crane, both of whom preceded him in death. Bill was a 1951 graduate of California High School, he then went on to graduate from the Electronics Institute of Kansas City. He was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean War. Bill was united in marriage on March 27, 1960, at the California U.C.C. to Jacqueline “Jackie” Seyfert who preceded him in death on January 8, 2015. He worked as a Customer Service Engineer for IBM retiring after 26 years. Bill enjoyed farming, old tractors, tractor pulls, steam engine shows and spending time with his family. Bill is survived by son, Russell Crane and wife Marla of California, Mo.; daughter, Dr. Susan Anschutz and husband David of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; brother, Mike Crane of Tipton, Mo.; sister, Rose Armstrong of Springfield, Mo. and three grandchildren, Sydne Anschutz, Paige Anschutz and Briar Hibdon. He was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie Bolinger. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 1-2 p.m. with a funeral service following immediately at 2:00 p.m., all at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Russell Cobb. Burial will be at the California U.C.C. Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the California U.C.C Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
