Janet Kay Rogers, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Boone Hospital Center. She was born February 1, 1947, in Montgomery City, to Donald and Emily (Jurgesmeyer) Bowlby. She was united in marriage on June 24, 1967, at the Kentucky Road Christian Church in Mexico, Missouri to Robert Marion Rogers who survives at the home. Janet was a 1965 graduate of Mexico High School and received her License for Practical Nursing from Audrain Hospital. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Janet began her career working at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, Missouri. She then continued her nursing at Phillips Nursing Home in Mexico, Missouri, and Audrain Medical Center. Later, she worked for more than 10 years at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri. Janet liked to crotchet, knit, and read. She loved to cheer on her granddaughters’ school activities and sporting events. Survivors include her husband, Robert; her daughter, Kim (Steve) Bruce, Jefferson City; and two granddaughters, Sophia Bruce, and Abigail Bruce. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant son, Shannon Rogers. Visitation will be 10-12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Bible Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Randy Dignan, officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Bible Baptist Church; Jefferson City High School Jay Band Boosters; or to Capital City High School Cheerleading Boosters.
