Christopher Gregory Loehr

Christopher Gregory Loehr, 28, of Jefferson City, died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at home surrounded by family from complications of the genetic disorder L1 Syndrome. He was born May 23, 1994, a son of Greg and Colleen Loehr. He was a 2015 graduate from Kenneth Kirchner State School in Jefferson City. He then participated in UCP Gibbs Heartland program from 2015 until 2022. Chris was very generous and his favorite thing to do was giving out paper to his friends. He is survived by parents: Greg and Colleen Loehr of Jefferson City; one sister: Mary Loehr of Santa Fe, N.M.; one brother: John “Jack” Loehr of Columbia; maternal grandfather: Dr. Carl “Leon” McGahee of St. Louis; maternal grandmother: Barbara Schmitt of Pinellas Park, Fla.; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: William and Mildred “Behen” Loehr. Chris is also survived by compassionate friends: Jordan Shaffer, Erica Steinbeck, Kelsey Harris, Candice Roth, Tammy Shoup, Nate Smith, Vosh Lee, Isaac Wibberg, Sheila Ehler, Lora Richardson, Lisa Palmer, Jen Martin, Shonda Leppers, Dr. Mary Deeken, Dr. Abdul Rezahi, Judy Stacey, Jessica Nilges, and Betty Cave. Chris' family would like to extend gratitude to the following organizations: Special Learning Center, Kenneth Kirchner State School, United Cerebral Palsy Heartland Gibbs Center, Boone Supported Living, Central Connections, Central Missouri Regional Offices, and Hospice Compassus of Jefferson City. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the outdoor pavilion at McClung Park in Jefferson City.
