Ronald Gene Lawson, 90, Holts Summit, Mo., passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Ronald was born on March 16, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Walter and Ethel (Blankenbeckler) Lawson, who preceded him in death. He was married for 56 years to Geraldine (Jeri) Lawson, who also preceded him in death. Gene dedicated his life and his singing voice to the Lord. He sang in several gospel quartets throughout his life most notably The Missionaries based in the Miami, Fla. area and The Sounds of His Coming based in southern Missouri. His love of gospel music was apparent in the songs of praise he wrote, sang and recorded. Gene loved to go fishing and golfing. He had numerous hobbies including astronomy, Hamm radio operator and wood working. He will be sorely missed by everyone whose life he touched! Survivors include: Lorinda "Lynn" Jones, Valerie McKee, Katherine Wagers, Frederick Lawson and Amanda Arthur; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and one brother, Noel Lawson. He was also preceded in death by two children, Ronald Lawson Jr. and Timothy Lawson; brother, Walter Lawson Jr. and his twin brother, Donald "Dean" Lawson; and two sisters, Catherine Carver and infant, Margaret "Maggie" Lawson. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit with Rev. LP Cook officiating.
