Leonard (Lenny) Hagenhoff

Leonard (Lenny) Hagenhoff, age 73, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Meta, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at Missouri Veterans Home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born February 2, 1949, to the late Leo and Laura (Rackers) Hagenhoff. Lenny attended St Cecilia grade school in Meta, and was a 1968 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia. He served in the US Army from September 1968 and was honorably discharged in September 1974. Lenny was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Coopers Supply in Springfield. He was an avid fisherman, especially trout fishing, and loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He loved spending time with family and friends, including his fellow veterans. He is survived by two children, Dana Von Frosch (Jeremiah) of Eldon and Jerome (Tiffany) Hagenhoff of Jefferson City; step-children, Lisa Chavez Schwartz (Dennis) of Jefferson City, Nikki Carbin (Chris) of Clarksville, Tenn., Trenton Campbell (Ninette) of Ballwin, Sarah Campbell of Ballwin, and Kelly Campbell of Silverthorne, Colo.; 20 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids. Other survivors include one sister, Rozella Porting of Oklahoma; two brothers, Frank Hagenhoff (Linda) of Holts Summit and Richard Hagenhoff (Anita) of Koeltztown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald, Robert, Virgil, Eugene, Leo Jr. and Herbert Hagenhoff. Burial at the St. Cecilia cemetery in Meta, and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
