Linda Kay Phillips, 70, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, with her loving sisters by her side. She was born on August 22, 1952, in Tebbetts, Missouri, a daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Wittenberger) Phillips. She grew up in Tebbetts and attended grade school there. Linda was a 1971 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was employed with ABB (Hitachi Energy) for 38 years. Linda was a giving person and a kid at heart. She enjoyed fishing, canoeing and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Linda treasured her visit to Graceland and trips to Fort Myers, Destin, Disneyland, the Great Smoky Mountains, Biltmore Estate and the Bahamas. One of her favorite pastimes was thumbing through Missouri Life magazine and turning down page corners as markers of interesting places to visit. Linda also enjoyed listening to country music and watching detective shows. She’s been known to write a poem or two for special occasions and “Flash” (as her friends called her) loved to pull pranks. Some may remember her dressing up at Halloween as a clown or a witchy-looking old lady. She is survived by her two sisters, Betty Smith and Helen Phillips, of Jefferson City; two brothers, C. David Phillips and Jim Phillips of Tebbetts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Phillips Payne and Dorothy Phillips Rogers; four brothers, Donald Phillips, Clarence Phillips Jr., Daniel Phillips and Harold Phillips. Linda requested that she be cremated and that a private graveside gathering be held. She will be inurned at the Riverview Cemetery in Tebbetts, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main St., Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.
