Brenda Ann Umstattd, 75, of Lohman, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home. She was born on January 16, 1947, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Ruby B. (Burnett) Lake in Madison, Missouri. She was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Thomas Richard Umstattd, on December 10, 1966, in Madison, Missouri. Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Madison High School. She went on to receive her real estate and broker certification. She worked as a real estate agent for Kinstler and Century 21 from 1990 to 2002. She began her role as a Circuit Clerk for Cole County in 2002 until her retirement in 2012. Brenda was a very active and involved member of the community. She was an avid volunteer for several organizations including, 4-H, Meals on Wheels, and Disabled American Veterans. She was a member of the local Eagles Club, Elks Club, Lohman Lion's Club, Cole County Republican Club, and Lohman Community Corporation. She served on the Russellville School Board, University of Missouri Extension. Brenda loved to garden. She never met a stranger and could talk to anyone, regardless of if they had ever met. Most of all, she was so proud of and loved her family, who will miss her immensely. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tom; children, Thomas Christopher Umstattd (Marilyn) and Angela Renea Schmutz (Brian); and grandson, Thomas Michael Schmutz. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Joseph Lake; and sister, Velma Joyce Bolin. Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Interment will be at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery directly following.
