Tim Otto, age 59, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. He was born in Jefferson City on April 30, 1963, son of the late Norbert and Ella (Bax) Otto. On April 30, 1988, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, Tim was united in marriage to Carla Barton, who survives at their home. Tim was a loyal employee at Diamond Dog Food for 31 years. He loved spending time fishing, hunting, and gardening. He spent hours in the garden growing an abundance of sweet corn, that he shared with his family and friends. Tim was a talented carpenter and a jack of all trades who could repair anything that needed tending. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, loving father, beloved brother, and a proud grandfather of Madeline and Reid, who he cherished. Tim was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. In addition to his loving wife, Carla Otto, he is also survived by two daughters, Lindsey Evers and husband Josh and Amy Evers and husband Matt both of St. Elizabeth; two grandchildren, Madeline Evers and Reid Evers; two brothers, Patrick "Pat" (Helen) Otto and Richard (Pam) Otto; four sisters, Jane (Bert) Doerhoff, Charlene (Randy) Buschjost, Debbie (Leon) Libbert, and Lisa (James) Wilde; mother-in-law, Ann Barton; six sisters-in-law, Sandra (Jim) Barnes, Kay Johannpeter, Julie (Tom) Kampeter, Sherry (Wayne) Reeves, Jackie (Jeff) Twehus, and Vicki Kemna; brothers-in-law, Walter Johannpeter and Brian Kemna; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bill Barton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth with Fr. Ignitius Nimwesiga officiating. No visitation will be held prior to the funeral mass. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Tim Otto's grandchildren's education fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
