Mary Elizabeth Jaeger

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Jaeger, age 88, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Westphalia Hills in Westphalia. Betty was born on October 26, 1933, in Kansas City, a daughter to the late James Edward and Florence Ann (Laughlin) Donehue. On April 18, 1952, Betty was united in marriage to Victor M. Jaeger at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Victor preceded her in death on September 30, 2002. Betty completed her elementary and secondary education with the Sisters of Mercy in Kansas City, Mo. She received a BS and MA at Lincoln University in Jefferson City in 1984 and 1988. She was employed for 38 years with the Department of Corrections in Jefferson City. Betty was a very devoted member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn. She truly loved to volunteer her time to her church and her friends. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Betty is survived by three sons, David, Russell and John Jaeger; two daughters, Victoria Zarra and Denise Leavitt; one grandson, five granddaughters, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Anderson of Olathe, Kansas. Betty donated her body to the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be held at St. George Cemetery in Linn at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
