Pamela K. Wheeler

Pamela K. Wheeler, 68, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at home with family by her side. Pam was born on July 18, 1953, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Gene and Vivia Lee (Briant) Wheeler. Pam was a 1971 graduate of Jefferson City High School and in 1991 she received her Associate of Computer Science Degree from Lincoln University. Pam retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections in 2006 after several years of dedicated service. Pam was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan. She enjoyed traveling, warm weather and swimming pools, having lived in Sun City, Arizona for a while. Pam enjoyed spending time with friends, playing Bunco, going to karaoke, and was a member of the Elk’s Lodge. She was creative and enjoyed painting and ceramics. She was known for her generous character and was always willing to help those in need. Pam was an animal lover who had a special place in her heart for her dog, Bruno and cats, Alli and Peaches. Above all, she was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, painting, taking them to plays and going to the nature center. Pam also enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. Pam’s grandchildren were her heart and soul. Pam is survived by her sons: Brock Van Loo (Lisa) of Jefferson City, Brad Van Loo (Tara) of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Sailor, Brewer, Brodyn, Cambri, Berkley and Chloe Van Loo; brother: Stephen Wheeler (Mary) of Lohman; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kim Wheeler. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Fr. Secrist officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
