Mary Virginia Rosell, 96, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Joseph's Bluffs Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born on July 3, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of Frank Joseph and Marie Tempest (Creque) Schultz. She was united in marriage to Lloyd "Jack" John Rosell on February 8, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky. Mary was a 1943 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a member of an all-girls dance band during World War II; she played clarinet and saxophone with the USO. She enjoyed traveling the world with her family and friends. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a friend to many; she will be dearly missed. Mary and her family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the staff of Heisinger Bluffs, Sarah's Place, and St. Joseph's Bluffs for their care and service over the past 12 years. She is survived by her son, David (Catherine) Rosell of Jefferson City, Missouri; daughter, Susan Lynn Rosell of Lansing, Kansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Myers, Bradley (Andria) Rosell, Joshua (Rose) Hitt, Trevor (Ashley) Hitt, and Ryan (Erin) Hitt; step-grandchildren, Richard Hitt and Carolyn Hitt; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Lily, Elena, Owen, Parker, Paul, Heather, Crew, Oakley, and Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Frank Billy Lee Schultz, and husband, Jack. Private graveside services will be held in Indianapolis at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Salvation Army.
