Leslie August Roettgen

Mr. Leslie August Roettgen, age 73, of Columbus, Ind., passed from this life on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Columbus Regional Hospital with loved ones by his side. He was born in Jefferson City, Mo. to William Joseph Roettgen and Josephine (Kremer) Roettgen. Les graduated from University of Rolla in Missouri and was hired by Cummins Engine Company. He was an engineer at Cummins for 31 years. During retirement, he spent his time enjoying his four grandchildren, photography and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Swengel) Roettgen; his daughters, Gwen (Matt) Bond of Columbus, Ind. and Lora (Kyle) Bellair of Greenwood, Ind.; his grandsons, Jayden and Landen Bellair; his granddaughters, Katie and Amelia Bond; his brothers, Nelson (Sandi) Roettgen, Leroy (Stephanie) Roettgen, Carl Roettgen, Joe (Kathy) Roettgen of Missouri; his sisters, Arlene Bruce of Missouri and Joyce (Al) Gearhart of Tennessee; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service was held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274.
