Jo Marie Dudenhoeffer, age 96 years, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born on September 24, 1925, in Luystown, Missouri, a daughter of Fred and Annie (Kremer) Backes. She attended school at St. Mary's School at Frankenstein, Missouri. She was married on May 22, 1947, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein to Bud Dudenhoeffer, who preceded her in death after 70 years of marriage. Jo worked as a Nurse's Assistant for 23 years at St. Mary's Health Center. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, as well as St. Peter's Altar Sodality, Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, and Our Lady's Prayer Group. Jo is survived by two sons and five daughters: Fred I. Dudenhoeffer (Charlotte), Mark A. Dudenhoeffer (Toni), Brenda J. Verhoff (Charles), Mary A. Weber, Debbie A. Kremer (Joe), Jeanne R. Hunt, and Renae F. Bernskoetter (Mark); 21 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Rita Bonnot; and one brother-in-law: Larry Keilholz. She was preceded in death by two grandsons: Ceth Bernskoetter and Nik Stover; and four sisters: Mary Agnes Backes, Bernadine Schulte, Florence Dudenhoeffer, and Nelda Mae Keilholz. Friends will be received on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with a Rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. Berhorst officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. The family asks that due to allergies you please limit flowers and refrain from using perfumes. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Vogelweid Learning Center or the St. Peter Catholic Church Building Fund.
