Dorothy Goldammer, 84, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born on July 8, 1938, in Russellville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Fred and Hilda (Theroff) Lehman. On February 28, 1960, she was united in marriage to Irvin Goldammer who survives of the home. She was employed with the State of Missouri and worked for the Committee on Legislative Research before retiring in 1998, after 24 years of employment. The job that was most important to her was that of caregiver to Irvin as he fought to overcome a near fatal illness. Dorothy was a member of the Community Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, watching her soap operas, and all things Loretta Lynn and Albert Pujols. Dorothy collected cookbooks and especially enjoyed trying out new recipes on her family. She loved to play cards and games and was quite competitive (she kept track of her wins and loved a last-minute victory). Most of all she loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandma. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Irvin; children, Jennifer Allen and Jeff Goldammer (Judy); three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sisters, Della Rains and Doris Pistel (Fred); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109 (573) 636-3838.
