Robert Lee Bishop

Robert Lee Bishop, 83, of Russellville, Mo., passed away at his residence on Thursday, April 7, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1938, in Howard County, the son of Raymond Bishop and Cora Edna (Dodson) Bishop, both of whom preceded him in death. Robert was united in marriage on February 23, 1958, at the Moniteau Advent Church to Nancy Jane (Reed) Bishop who survives at the home. He worked as an equipment operator for the Cole County Department of Public Works for 28 years and worked with his brother Ray at Rays MFA for many years. Robert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Russellville, Mo. He enjoyed going to high school baseball and basketball games and watching his grandkids and great-grandkids play. He enjoyed picking on his family because he was an avid Raiders fan. Robert loved his cat Tip. Survivors include three sons, Larry Wayne Bishop (Kathi) of Lohman, Mo., Kenneth Dale Bishop of Russellville, Mo., Kevin Lee Bishop (Amy Stephens) of Russellville, Mo.; one daughter, Linda Kaye Wittenberger (David) of California, Mo.; four brothers, Raymond Estel Bishop of California, Mo., Bill Bishop of California, Mo., Ronnie Bishop of Boonville, Mo., Randy Lee Bishop of Boonville, Mo.; three sisters, Kathleen Warmbrodt of Mexico, Mo., Bonnie Gardner of Tipton, Mo., Sharon Kaye Webster of Boonville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Stephanie Bishop of Chicago, Ill., Brian Bishop (Tara) of Eugene, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Brees Bishop and Baylor Bishop of Eugene, Mo. He was preceded in death by four brothers, infant James Albert Bishop, Carl Bishop, John Bishop, and George Bishop. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Edward L. Merckel assisted by Rev. Russell Cobb. Burial will be at the California City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or U.C.C. Radio Ministry c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California, Mo.
