Emily Rachel Rowden, age 33, of Wardsville, Mo., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 25, 2021, at her home due to an ongoing illness. She was born on July 23, 1988, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Ronald Clay and Rebecca Ann (Kraus) Rowden. A lifelong resident of Wardsville, Emily graduated from Helias High School in 2007. She went on to earn an associate's degree from Columbia College with an emphasis in business. Emily was currently employed with Bee at Home, LLC. Her role at Bee at Home provided her a great amount of joy. This career granted her an opportunity to help care for others and the compassion came natural to her. She thought of all of her clients and their families as her own. Emily loved the outdoors; whether on the water, arrowhead hunting or shooting with her father. She spent many weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks and on the Osage River enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. Her last river ride on Father's Day was with her father and brothers. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephew and was normally the biggest kid of all - dancing through the house, watching movies and making messes in the kitchen. Emily was always known to wear a smile and knew no stranger. She was a friend to everyone who knew her and was the most loyal of all. Her family and friends will miss her selflessness, fun-loving personality and maybe even her stubbornness. Her life began by being baptized in the Catholic Church. It was important to her to pray each day. Emily's family now finds great comfort in knowing that she is resting with the Lord. Survivors include her parents, Ronnie and Becky Rowden of Wardsville; her brothers, Ryan Rowden (Lindsey) and Jacob Rowden (Annie Isenberg), both of Jefferson City; nephew and nieces, Cooper, Sadie and Nora Rowden, all of Jefferson City; her aunts and uncles; Jerry Kraus (Joyce) of Jefferson City, Ronda Findlay (Jim) of Lee's Summit, Mike Kraus of Lake Ozark, Renee (Kraus) Christian (Terry Kiso) of Jefferson City, Stanley Rowden (Cindy) of Bonne Terre, Twila Sinden of Dixon and Della Lindley (Wade) of St. Thomas; many cousins; and her sweet dogs, Leo and Lucy. Emily was preceded in death her maternal grandparents, Cecil and Mary Jane Kraus; and her paternal grandparents, William "Bill" and Nadine Rowden. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2021. A prayer service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend I. C. Medina officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Wardsville, Mo. A webcast of Emily's service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday for friends that are not able to attend by going to her memorial page on the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Emily Rowden Memorial Fund at P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, MO 65102. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary. www.freemanmortuary.com
