Daniel "Danny" Riley Etter

Daniel "Danny" Riley Etter, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021, with his two sons and family by his side in his home next to the Osage River. Danny was born August 9, 1938, in Eugene, Mo., the son of Paul Jasper and Rella (Rush) Etter who preceded him in death. He was married to Frances "Fran" H. (Allison) Etter on May 6, 1961, in Miami, Okla. Fran preceded Danny in death in February of 2015. Danny was a graduate of Eugene High School and served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. He retired from Von Hoffman Press after 35 years. He also worked for the Eldon Advertiser and Highway Planning, Department of Transportation. He was a Golden Eagle at Aerie #2693 of Jefferson City. His favorite past-time was fishing and going to the casinos. He loved watching sports of all kinds, especially football. Danny loved spending time with his two sons, family, and friends. Survivors include: two sons, Perry Dane Etter of Tuscumbia, Mo., and Shawn Merle Etter of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Nick Etter of Jefferson City, Mo., Adam Etter of St. Louis, Mo., and Maggie Etter of Jefferson City, Mo., and one great-granddaughter, Marley Etter. Danny was preceded in death by his four brothers, Hobert Yancy Etter, Kern Wallace Etter (Ninabelle), James Ellis Etter (Margie); two sisters, Rebecca Clare Clemens (Robert), and Pauline Muriel Dawson (James); and his daughter, Sheila Danielle Etter. Graveside services and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Eugene Cemetery, Eugene, Mo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice in Columbia or Jefferson City, Mo. or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
