Charlene Sims

Charlene Sims, 66, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics. She was born on September 12, 1955, in Fulton, a daughter of Ralph Gillette and Pauline (Galbreath) Logan. Charlene was united in marriage on May 23, 1975, to Bobby Sims. Charlene was a 1973 graduate of Fulton High School. She was employed with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Charlene was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting projects including sewing, scrapbooking and ceramics. Charlene was a softball pitcher in high school and loved watching sports including football and volleyball. Her favorite color was blue and her favorite actor was Chuck Connors from The Rifleman. She challenged herself with all types of puzzles including jigsaw, crosswords and anything she could find. Most of all, Charlene cherished spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bob; children, Tennille Bolte (Jeffrey) and Christopher Sims; father, Robert Logan; many siblings; and grandchildren, Colin, Olivia and Ava Bolte. Charlene was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Gillette and mother, Pauline Logan. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on October 11, 2021, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Rev. Monte Shinkle officiating. Burial will be private for family at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
