Ronnie Eugene Remley

Ronnie Eugene Remley, 75, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Harry S. Truman Veteran's Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He was born in California, Mo. on November 16, 1945, the son of Virgil and Olga (Ziehmer) Remley, both of who preceded him in death. Ronnie was a graduate of California High School. He was a U.S Army Veteran and was a combat veteran in Vietnam. Ronnie received his criminal justice degree from Lincoln University. He then served as a police officer for the Jefferson City Police Department for 27 years. Ronnie enjoyed working on cars, NASCAR and sprint car racing, driving around looking at the countryside, loved visiting with people, collecting guns, antiques and was an animal lover especially his dogs Buster and Sunny, along with many other dogs. He is survived by his partner, Marilyn Moeller of the home; two daughters, Carrie Middleton of Evergreen, Colo. and Debralee Chowning of Warrenton, Mo.; one brother, Orbin Remley of Comanche, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Christin and Nicholas Chowning and Grace and Gabriel Middleton also many friends and family. Ronnie was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia McDow and Erma Dean Black and infant brother, Robert Remley. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Russellville. Inurnment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of Missouri and to Catholic Masses c/o the funeral home.
