Norman Kent Clarke

Norman Kent Clarke, 86, of Boonville, Mo., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021, with his family by his side at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove, Mo. Norman was born September 4, 1935, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Ernest William Clarke and Anna (Swim) Clarke. He was married on June 9, 1956, to Bonnie Lou Cummings in Jefferson City, Mo. Norman worked for the local bakeries in Jefferson City, Columbia, and Boonville for a combined 35 years. Norman and Bonnie moved to Boonville in the late 1960's where Norman worked for Butternut Bread until he retired in 1991. Norman was a hard worker who rarely missed a day of work in all of his years of employment. His work ethic was one of the things he was most proud of along with his family and his wife who he adored endlessly. Survivors include: one sister, Ollie Burnett of Jefferson City, Mo.; six children: daughter, Donna Perkins; son, Norman (Kenny) Clarke Jr. and wife Sue; son, Dennis (Wayne) Clarke and wife Ronda; and son, Doug Clarke, all of Boonville, Mo.; daughter, Sherry Clarke of Magnolia, Texas; daughter, Tracy Romig and husband Bob of Tomball, Texas; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and his beloved wife of 63 years, Bonnie. Funeral services will be 6 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, at William Wood Funeral Home, 517 4th St., Boonville, Mo. Visitation will be 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Longview Cemetery in Jefferson City, private for family and close friends. Norman's services are under the care of William Wood Funeral Home.
