Herbert "Herbie" Lock, age 92, of Loose Creek passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by his loving family. Herbie was born on November 3, 1928, in Loose Creek, a son to the late Paul and Mary (Muenks) Lock. Herbie graduated from Immaculate Conception Grade School and Loose Creek High School. On April 15, 1953, Herbie was united in marriage to Lillian M. (Williams) Lock at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Lillian preceded him in death on March 11, 1997. Herbie was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek and Loose Creek Community Club and Ballpark. Herbie was a lifelong farmer, raising chickens, hatching and raising turkeys, cattle and crops. He was a self-taught mechanic and repaired equipment and welded items for use on the farm. Herbie enjoyed trout-line fishing, deer hunting, riding his four-wheeler and spending time with his family and friends. Herbie and Lillian enjoyed pool time and barbeques in their backyard with their children and grandchildren. Herbie is survived by his three daughters, Elaine Lock and her special friend, Frank Backes of Loose Creek, Sharon Wilson of Loose Creek and Debbie Dudenhoeffer and her husband Jim of Loose Creek; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Carrie) Wilson, Jennifer (Troy) Warren, Michael Wilson, Kimberly (Bob) Moeller, Dustin (Julie) Wilson, Kristen (Justin) Wegman and Sarah Wilson; 13 great-grandchildren, Logan and Gavin Wilson, Lilly, Lucy, and Alex Warren, Elly and Eva Wilson, Huck, Crosby, Georgia and Archer Moeller and Gentry and Boone Wegman; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents and wife of 43 years, Herbie was preceded in death by: one son-in-law, John Wilson; one great- grandson, Corbin Wegman; and three sisters, Martha Henshaw, Beatrice "Bea" Robertson and Marybelle Lock. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Rev. Anthony "Tony" Rinaldo as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Immaculate Conception School Foundation.
