Kandie Corrinne Mooneyham, 57, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at St. Joseph Bluffs following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 24, 1963, in Marshalltown, Iowa to John and Roberta (Jones) Hand. Kandie was a graduate of BGM High School in Brooklyn, Iowa and obtained her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Tarkio University. On April 21, 1990, in Boone County, Mo. she was married to Tom A. Mooneyham, who preceded her in death August 11, 2020. Kandie worked for the MO Department of Corrections and retired as a Probation and Parole District Administrator, Department of Public Safety as a Juvenile Program Specialist, MO Department of Social Services Program Specialist as a Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline call taker, the Operations Manager for Eyes on Missouri, a Resident Coordinator for Preferred Family Healthcare and an Evidence Technician with the Jefferson City Police Department. She loved her family, grandchildren, friends, dogs Macey, Marley and Tia, enjoyed gardening, reading books, cooking and shopping. Kandie is survived by her sons: Nate Mooneyham of the home and Jeff Mooneyham (Tricia) of Huntsville; sister: Mary Brannian of Malcom, Iowa; grandchildren: Roland, Tiernan and Paisley; siblings: Chris and John Hand and Lisa Lasley; brother-in-law: David (Sue) Mooneyham; sisters-in-law: June (Larry) Teter and Linda Wood; and numerous friends. Kandie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son: Kyle Mooneyham, and sister: Victoria Hand. A celebration of Kandie's life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
