Jean Teague Branstetter

Jean Teague Branstetter, age 96 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 13, 1924, in Fort Morgan, Colo., the daughter of William and Verdia (McIntosh) Teague. She was married on August 4, 1941, in New London, Mo. to Richard Branstetter, who preceded her in death on September 19, 2011. Jean was a 1941 graduate of Farber High School in Farber, Mo. She was a strong woman of faith and a charter member of First Presbyterian Church. Jean cherished her involvement and served as the Deacon in the church and was a dedicated member of her Women's Circle. A long-time resident of Jefferson City, Jean was a dedicated homemaker. She gracefully fulfilled her role as military wife and mother and took pride in the service rendered by her men. She often volunteered to help with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts while her kids were young and loved being involved in a variety of their activities. Jean lived a long and fulfilled life; she will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Survivors include: two sons, Rick Branstetter (wife Betsy) of Jefferson City, Mo. and John Branstetter (wife Nancy) of Highland, Mich.; one daughter, Peggy Snell (husband Jim) of Branson, Mo.; nine siblings, Bud Teague (wife Leota) of Vandalia, Mo., Bill Teague (wife Deborah) of Mexico, Mo., Wayne Teague (wife Mary Jane) of Bellville, Ill., Donna Tipton (husband Claudie) of Farber, Mo., Jim Teague (wife Ardis) of Caldwell, Idaho, Jerry Teague (wife Patty) of Mexico, Mo., Ronnie Teague (wife Irma Sue) of Springfield, Mo., Jack Teague (wife Linda) of Loch Lloyd, Mo. and Faye Teague of Overland Park, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Michael, Kristen, Aaron, Bill, Sunny, Johnny and Lauren; and 13 great-grandchildren, Emma, Malachi, Ava, Courtney, Brooklyn, Taylor, Kate, Ben, Chloe, Drew, Kaitlyn, Kendall and John Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 70 years, Richard; three sisters, Mildred Wilkinson, Velma Motley and Mary Crow; one brother, Mack Teague; and one infant grandson on August 11, 1977. Services for Jean have been postponed and will be announced at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus and Homemaker Home Health.
