Lloyd David Bowden, 81, of Jefferson City, passed away on June 13, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital. He was born on June 12, 1940, in St. Paul, Minnesota, a son of the late Milford and Leona (Busheng) Bowden. Lloyd was united in marriage on September 26, 1995, in Maui, Hawaii to Malissa Tiner. He was a 1958 graduate of Ypsilanti High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Lloyd joined the United States Marine Corps in 1958, and served his enlistment in Maui, Hawaii. After his honorable discharge he attended Eastern Michigan University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Lloyd became a Certified Public Accountant and had a successful practice in and around Jefferson City for many years. Lloyd was active in the Samuel F. Gerhardt Detachment, Marine Corps League. He enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, he and Malissa sang in the church choir and were very involved in their church. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Malissa Bowden; children, Roger Harvey (Tracy), Bryan Harvey (Sheila) and Lori Ewing (Chuck); grandchildren, Jason Harvey, Devon Harvey, Alex Harvey, Kalyn Girdley, Grace Ewing, and Faith Ewing; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Ruth Bowden and brother, Bob Beck. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11: a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Concord Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Rev. Monte Shinkle officiating. Interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
