Ruby Mae (Collins) Feeler, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Delinda Gillardi, near Rolla, Missouri. Ruby was born on this same family homestead on January 14, 1928, a property once owned by her grandparents and parents, and now recognized as a Century Farm. After her schooling in Rolla, she worked for a short time at a St. Louis hospital and an ammunition factory until the end of World War II. In 1946, Ruby married her sweetheart, Hubert Feeler, of Maries County. Five children were born to their long and happy union of 70 years. t age 23, as a young wife and mother, Ruby received Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. She was a long time member of Salem Avenue Baptist Church. Ruby served through the years by teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, greeting people at the door of the church and singing in the choir. She faithfully prayed daily for her family and friends. Ruby is remembered for her delicious meals, such as roast beef from the family farm, and making her famous sweet treats (horehound candy, fruit cobblers, cashew brittle, and pecan pie). She also had a gift for quilting and her handmade treasures are now family heirlooms for all her children and grandchildren. Over the years, Ruby kept her mind sharp with daily crossword puzzles and reading books, plus she loved to feed and watch "her little birds" through the window. Her home was always full of color, including stained-glass window hangings and pink Depression era glassware. Their door was always open with warm hospitality. She was greatly loved during her 93 years on earth. While goodbyes are one of the hardest things we have to do, we know she is celebrating being in the presence of her Savior and being reunited with all her loved ones in Heaven. Ruby is survived by children: Dale (Lory) Feeler, David (Ellen) Feeler, Gary (Ima Jean) Feeler, Delinda (Joe) Gillardi and Gina (John) Anderson; grandchildren: Jeffery (Heather) Feeler, Stephanie (Andrew) McDanel, Preston (Niki) Feeler, Wyatt (Jeanette) Feeler, Ryan (Alissha) Feeler, Amy (Don) Adam, Gina (Brian) Collinge, Shanna (Ryan) Thorpe, Rachel Anderson and Chase Anderson; 16 great-grandchildren (including a baby girl due in April); sister-in-law: Carol (Holt) Collins; along with many extended family members and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Mae (Miller) Collins; her husband: Hubert Feeler; sister: Pauline (Collins) Rosenburg; brothers: William Collins, Steve Devere Collins; and daughter-in-law: Donna (Light) Feeler.
