Robert Bearden

Robert Glen "Bob" Bearden, 71, of Holts Summit died Friday, December 10, 2021, at his home. He was born April 30, 1950, in San Benito, Texas, the son of Eldon and Norene (George) Bearden Sr. After graduating from South County Technical School in St. Louis, he joined the United States Navy for four years spending most of that time in Guam. He spent 36 years as a heavy equipment operator for Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads, where he was known as "Cowboy." He retired in 2010. Bob was a long-time member of the Church of Christ, Jefferson City, and the American Legion Post #5. Bob never missed watching a NASCAR race when Dale Earnhardt Sr. was driving. He enjoyed going to races, collecting NASCAR cars, and anything mechanical. He was a caring person, a friend to all, and never met a stranger. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Wanda Kennedy Bearden, Holts Summit; a son, Richard (Jennifer) Bearden, Jefferson City; an adopted son, Matthew Bearden, Florida; step-son, James (Dana) Dameron, California, Mo.; a step-daughter, Tammy (Terry) Rose, Covington, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth (Paul) Motheral, Spicewood, Texas, Patricia Moore, Waxahachie, Texas, and Pamela Jordan, Ft. Worth, Texas; a brother-in-law, Roger Kennedy; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Teresa Boley. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billie Dean Bearden, Eldon Hazel Bearden Jr., and Randle Sylvester Bearden; and one sister, Helen Kay Renken Stroether. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Russ Pflasterer officiating. Military honors will conclude the service. Following the service, the family will receive friends. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, of Jefferson City. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
