Irene Virginia "Jean" Miller, 95, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at home with family by her side. She was born on February 19, 1926, in New Bloomfield, Mo., a daughter of Archie John and Martha Mary (Hake) Steinmetz. She was married on August 4, 1951, to Howard Bernie Miller, who preceded her in death on May 16, 1997. Jean attended New Bloomfield Public Schools and St. Peter's Interparish School. After graduation, Jean took college courses at Lincoln University and Columbia College. She was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, T.G. & Y Stores, District Manager for Walmart Shoe Department, and was also a Realtor. After moving to Jefferson City in 1969, Jean became employed with the Division of Data Processing and Telecommunications retiring in 1995. Jean was a member of the Seventh Day Church of God in Kansas City, a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4224 in Eldon, the Ladies Auxiliary Amvets Post 108 in Rocky Mount, and the National Association of Market Research Analysts. A woman of faith, Jean enjoyed watching Christian broadcasts and her daily bible studies. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and family gatherings. Survivors include: son, Alan Miller (Christina) of Gravois Mills; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Miller of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Keith Miller and Michelle Miller; and great-granddaughter, Rainna Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; and infant son, Michael Gene Miller. Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fulton, Mo.
