Mary Fischer

Mary Elizabeth Fischer, 73, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1948, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Elliott William and Florence Elizabeth (Luebbert) Fischer. Mary attended St. Peter Grade School and graduated from Helias High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Lincoln University. Mary worked for News Tribune as an assistant to the editor for 15 years. She held several other positions in office management positions. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed working with and attending the Capital City Players Theater productions, reading, traveling, and was a St. Louis Blues fan. Survivors include her cousins, Sam (Sharon) Luebbert, Ray Luebbert Jr. (deceased) and his surviving wife Mary Ann Luebbert, Jim Luebbert (deceased) and his surviving wife Romona Luebbert, Charles (Patsy) Luebbert, Joan (Robert) Kauffman, Michael (Techie) Luebbert, Mary (Philip) Gelber, Richard (Jeane) Bacon, Thomas (Janis) Bacon, John Bacon, Lawrence (Beth) Bacon, Dan (Theresa) Bacon, Patrick (Nancy) Donehue, Alan (Mary) Donehue, Lugene (Bill) Wagner, Nancy Jo (John) Jaeger, Gary Lock, David (Linda) Lock, Robert (Susan) Lock, Philip (Sharon) Lock, Kathy (Glenn) Robertson, Steven (Andrea) Luebbert, Mark (Kim) Luebbert, Kris (Danny) Stegman; dear friend, Jim Roach; and other extended family members. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paschal Ihediohamma officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
