Thomas Oliver Hart

Thomas Oliver Hart, 92, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Truman VA Hospital. Thomas was born on April 2, 1929, in Nora Springs, Iowa, one of four boys of Oliver and Minnie Pearl Hart. In 1964, in Jefferson City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Lorine Oidtman, who survives. Tom was a farmer and avid gardener. He loved animals and his community and was well known for his homemade crme puffs. He joined the Army in 1951 and served as a Marine Engineer during the Korean War. He was honorable discharged as a Corporal in 1953. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lorine; four children: Nancy Berrey, Ben (Patricia) Hart, Susan Hart, and Peggy Hart; four grandchildren: Catherine Berrey, Lukas Berrey, Madeline Hart, and Olivia Hart; and two brothers: Richard Hart and Jack (Alberta Louise) Hart. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Hart. Friends and family will be received from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., on Friday, August 13, 2021, with Funeral Services to follow on Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.
