Lorraine Catherine Luebbering

Lorraine Catherine Luebbering, age 85, of St. Thomas, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in St. Thomas on November 7, 1935, daughter of the late Lawrence and Hatty (Suthoff) Luebbering. On July 16, 1955, in St. Thomas, Lorraine was united in marriage to Raymond Christopher Luebbering, who preceded her in death on January 21, 2015. Lorraine received a lifetime award for her volunteer work and leadership in 4-H and was inducted in the inaugural class of Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame in 2007. She was a member of the 4th Degree Auxiliary with the Knights of Columbus and served as past president of the Blair Oaks band boosters. Lorraine was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and taught religion classes and was a past leader of the CYO. She loved spending time outdoors, gardening, hiking, and walking the farm with her faithful canine companion, Molly. She also enjoyed taking trips with her husband Ray, her grandchildren and friends. Lorraine took great pride in her and Ray's family farm where they raised their nine children. Lorraine is survived by her nine children, Mike (Jayne) Luebbering of St. Thomas, Patsy (Richard) Luebbert of Westphalia, Mary Lynn (Jeff) Richter of Wardsville, Betty (Randy) Hagenhoff of Meta, Steve (Kathy) Luebbering of Westphalia, Karen Luebbert (Paul Stack) of St. Peters, Jennifer (Darin) Even of Meta, Greg (Joyce) Luebbering of St. Thomas, and Josh (Julie) Luebbering of St. Thomas; 31 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren with four on the way; four brothers, Ben (Amy) Luebbering, Richard Luebbering, Larry (Mary Jane) Luebbering, and Andy (Pat) Luebbering; five sisters, Agnes Scott, Flora (Stanley) Stafford, Mary Ann (Robert) Reinhardt, Rose (Mike) Mertens, and Alice (Kenny) Wolters; two sisters-in-law, Lynn Luebbering and Joanie Luebbering; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Norbert and Al Luebbering, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 3 p.m., a prayer service at noon, with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. Interment will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
