James Britton Wells, 27, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was born June 28, 1994, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, the son of Steven Wells and Margaret Gale-Wells. James was united in marriage to Emily Granich on January 29, 2021, who survives at their home. James was a 2013 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He obtained his associate degree from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla. in Digital Cinematography. James was previously employed with Riley Chevrolet Buick GMC and Toyota and most recently was employed as a Technician with Jim Lewis Tire in Jefferson City. James loved the outdoors and thrill of adventure. He enjoyed visiting the beach, snorkeling, camping, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor adventures. Above all, James loved his wife and son. He and his wife, Emily, had fun riding around in his truck. James was a devoted father to his son, Gunner, and cherished making memories with him, most recently at the beach. One of James' favorite places to visit was the zoo, especially the Saint Louis Zoo. James had an innate passion for capturing family moments; he liked to film his family's activities and adventures and share these moments with others. Above all else, James' family and friends were very important to him. He impacted countless lives through his family and friendships and lived life to the fullest each day. James will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew and loved him. In addition to his wife: Emily, he is survived by one son: Gunner Wells; a second child expected to arrive March 2022; his parents: Steven and Margaret of Jefferson City, Mo.; two brothers: Alex Gale (Jamie) of Dillingham, Ark., Kevin Wells of McGirk, Mo.; maternal grandparents: Norris and Alexia "Callahan" Gale of Jefferson City, Mo.; uncles: David Gale (Lisa) of Jefferson City, Kevin "Pete" Gale of Edgar Springs, Mo., Todd Wells (Pam) of Springfield, Mo.; one aunt: Susan Edmonds (Steve) of Nixa, Mo.; father-in-law: Clinton Granich (Christine) of Centertown, Mo.; mother-in-law: Tausha Davis (Eric) of Fulton, Mo., and a host of cousins and extended family who will miss him tremendously. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Billy Joe and Elsie (Brewer) Wells. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, at the First Baptist Church; 301 E. Capitol Ave., Jefferson City, Mo. Pastor Melissa Hatfield will be officiating. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be private for the family at Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City, Mo. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wells Family Memorial Fund.
