Salma Jean Hoeller, age 81, of Koeltztown, departed this life Sunday, April 25, 2021, at her residence. She was born August 20, 1939, at Jefferson City, a daughter of Joseph Bernard and Vernita Marie (Kempker) Woehr. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1960, at Koeltztown, to Herman Louis Hoeller, and to this union, seven children were born. Mrs. Hoeller was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown, and graduated from the St. Boniface School. During her working life, she was employed by Scholastic, Inc., Jefferson City, as an Order Clerk for 20 plus years prior to her retirement in 2003, as well as being a devoted housewife and homemaker to her family. Salma especially liked taking drives in the country, going shopping, loved dancing, and best of all, going to Lake of the Ozarks for family vacations at the Tan Tara Resort. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Hoeller include: Her children, Donna Hoeller, Westphalia; Shirley Hoeller, St. Elizabeth; Michael Hoeller (Anna), Jefferson City; Lisa Wieberg (Leroy), Argyle; Peggy Wieberg (Dale), Argyle; Joseph Hoeller (Jessie), Westphalia; and Christie Hoeller, Meta; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosemary Luebbering, St. Thomas; Rita Kempker (Lester), Taos; and Nancy Weed (William), Gutherie; nephews, nieces, with greats and great-greats as well, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman (9-22-1984); her father, Joseph (1-19-1976); her mother, Vernita (4-7-2016); grandchildren, Kylee, Jamie, and Angel; infant brother, Bernard; and infant sister, Marie. Visitation for Mrs. Salma J. Hoeller will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 3982 Highway T, Koeltztown, MO 65048, with her Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Basil Tigga as the celebrant, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Interment will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Koeltztown, with Austin Anthony Hoeller, Christopher Herman Kliethermes, Ryan Louis Cutt, Cody Louis Wieberg, Shawn Michael Wieberg, and Travis John Wieberg serving as pallbearers, and Ethan Wayne Cutt, Andrew Gordan Cutt, and Kyle Ray Kliethermes serving as honorary pallbearers. Masses are preferred by the family of Mrs. Salma J. Hoeller with envelopes available at St. Boniface Church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
