Karen Jean (Stover) Speights

Karen Jean (Stover) Speights, age 63, formerly of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was born in Crocker, Missouri on March 6, 1958, daughter of the late Robert and Vivian (Dillion) Stover. Karen was united in marriage in Wyoming in 2003 to Sterling Speights, who survives at their home. Karen was a great cook and very creative, she loved to craft and paint. She had a free spirit and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. Karen had a big heart, which loved deeply and was evident in her laughter and smile. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Gwen Porting (Ted) and David Stover (Tara) of Jefferson City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Corey Porting (Paige), Teddy Porting, and Vincent Stover, all of Jefferson City; one great- grandchild, Ava Porting; three sisters, Sue Carroll (Al), Gayle Walton, and Roberta Hunt; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jerry Stover. A celebration of Karen's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of the donor's choice.
