Mary Wieners

Mary R. Wieners, 83, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1937 in Flat, Missouri, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Williams) Wilson. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Wieners, October 12, 1953, in Flat. She was a loving housewife who stayed home to raise her children until they were of school age. For 25 years she worked for Cheseborough Ponds (Unilever) until her retirement in 1992. Mary was a faithful member of Solid Rock Family Church and was involved in many ministries and was a past president of the Pentecostal Ladies Association (PLA). She and Bill enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states, seven countries in Europe, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. They would take their grandchildren to Sanibel Island, Florida where they spent many happy hours "shelling". Mary was a voracious gardener and spent hours lovingly canning the "fruits" of her labor. She was a talented quilter and made many for her children and grandchildren. Most of all, she treasured the memories created with her family and they will miss her greatly. She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Bill Wieners; children: Elaine Pherigo (Sam), Patty Tuttle, Beverly Verdot (Harold), Kay Finnell (Mark) and Sue Wieners-Burkhart (Mike); sister: Hazel Bench; sister-in-law: Dee Wilson; grandchildren: Beth, Chris, Tim, Sammy, Charlotte, Shelly, Sheila, Chuck, Ty, Nick, Tracy, Crystal, Annessa, Christina, Adam, Andrew, Jesse, Lisa, and Megan; and great-grandchildren: Michael, Charlotte, Isaac, Tyler, Carter, Hayden, Olivia, Trenton, Madison, Abbie, Audrey, Isabelle, Aiden, Madelynn, Kayla, Gavin, Reed, Everly, Cole, Lilly, Logan, Gabe, Alaina, Olivia, Danielle, Mackenzie, Makayla, Mason, Rilie, Levon, Zaine, Nora and Cohen. Mary was preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Pearl Wieners; brothers: Louie, Olyn and Mervin Wilson; sisters: Lavesta Webber, Edith Duckworth, Maxine Watson, Jessie Williams, Ruth Karr, Martha Kietzer; her only son: William "Bill" Wieners Jr.; and her son-in-law: Charles Tuttle. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2020 at Solid Rock Family Church with Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Joe Skiles officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that expressions of sympathy be made to Kids on the Rock Children's Ministry, Solid Rock Family Church.
