Janet (Jan) M. Jasper

Janet (Jan) M. Jasper, age 72, of Russellville, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born September 14, 1947 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the daughter of Orval E. (Arky) and Freda Mae (Davis) Vandiver, both of whom preceded her in death. Janet attended Rittenhour High School. She was united in marriage to Danny Jasper in Osage City, Mo. on April 1, 1989. Janet was employed as a group leader at Scholastic until her retirement. Janet was a member of Cole Spring Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, music, flowers, cooking and crafts. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two sons, William (Niki) Sauter, Jefferson City, Mo. and Spencer (Franklin) Jasper, Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Hope (Jerry) Berhorst, Holts Summit, Mo., Wendy (Ray) Bacion, Jefferson City, Mo., and Carissa (Tanya) Jasper, Russellville, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Clay, Shelby, Mike, Chrissy, Dustin, Dylan, and Marty; and eight great-grandchildren. Janet was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Weber Funeral Home, Russellville, Mo. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Hare officiating, assisted by Steve Web, with burial at Enloe Cemetery. The general public is welcome to attend while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance.
