Dorothy Alma Kliethermes, 85, of Westphalia, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born July 16, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Henry Peter and Caroline C. "Carrie" (Maasen) Reinkemeyer. She was a 1953 graduate of Linn High School. She was united in marriage on January 7, 1956, in Linn, to Jerome "Jerry" Kliethermes who preceded her in death on September 13, 2011. Dorothy worked for the Highway Patrol in the Criminal Records Division. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, computer games and doing puzzles. Survivors include four children, Gregory (Barbara) Kliethermes, Taos; John Kliethermes, Westphalia; David (Laura) Kliethermes, Jefferson City; Susan (Jay), Bond, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Jamie Kliethermes (Nick Crane), Emily (Justin) Linnenbrink, Angie (Ryan) Brooks, Jeremy Voss, Joe Kliethermes, Deandra (Greg) Lowell, Kelsey (Tyler) Stegeman, Riley (Chase) Pistel, and Bryce Bond; nine great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Rita Rackers, Taos; Harvey (Suzi) Reinkemeyer, St. Louis; and Kenneth (Kathy) Reinkemeyer, Linn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Carrie; her husband, Jerry; a sister and brothers-in-law, Freda and Jim Weber and Richard Rackers. Private family visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Anthony Viviano officiating. Those attending the services please follow social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
