Michael Bruce Saar

Michael Bruce Saar, age 73, of Little Rock, Ark, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, Ark. He was born on October 25, 1946, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City Missouri, to Alice Virginia Crafton Saar and Jack Rudolph Saar. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother John. Michael graduated from Jefferson City Senior High School in 1964. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas in 1973, and was a registered Architect in Arkansas for many years. He was an associate and vice-president at the Blass firm, and later was a stockholder at Cromwell. Michael played league volleyball, and was a regional referee in the USVBA. Michael's hobby was raising orchids. He was a charter member of the Arkansas Orchid Society, a retired judge for the Southwest Regional Orchid Growers Association, and the American Orchid Society. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Amanda Fair Saar, and the latest in a long line of well beloved cats, Footsy and Max. Other survivors include his cousins Lisa, (Ed) Heckman, Alice Kirtley, Emily Kirtley, and Greg (Stacey) Crafton. Also surviving are brothers-in-law and sisters -in- law, Ed and Pat Fair, and Polly and Spencer Baker; nephews, Joseph Fair (Stacey), William Baker (Kristen), and Nicholas Baker (Emily); Niece Sharon Fair (Jim); great-nephews include Nathan Fair, CJ Fair, Orson Hicks, and Grayson Baker; and a great-niece, is Hadassah Fair. The family thanks Jerry Brown and Tom and Marianne Flammang who helped with a very neglected greenhouse as well as everyone at Arkansas Hospice and Home Helpers who helped during this difficult time. Due to Corona Virus concerns, there will be no ceremony at this time.
