Charles Richard "Dickie" Dickrader, age 84, of Holts Summit, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born in St. Charles, Missouri on May 23, 1936 to the late Lester F. Dickrader and the late Mary (Gruber) Dickrader. On June 14, 1996, Chuck married Diana (Yocum) Dickrader. She survives his passing. Chuck grew up as "Dickie" Dickrader. Following high school, he served in the United States Air Force where he was a supply clerk. Coincidentally, during his time in El Paso, he served on the same base as Diana's father and was close to their family, often visiting their home. Chuck earned his living as a union laborer as well as a Shaklee Distributor for more than 50 years. He was a member of Portland Baptist Church and Central Christian Church, where he served as an elder and trustee, the Masonic Lodge of Mokane, earning his 50-year pin in 2018, and the Eagles Club Aerie 2693 of Jefferson City. Chuck will be remembered as a great dancer and talented storyteller. In his spare time, he enjoyed feeding his birds, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, spending time with his faithful companion, Kirby the dog, and being with family. In addition to his wife of 24 years, he is survived by daughters, Rhea Dickrader of Jefferson City, Pam Gilman (Billy) of Fulton, Desiree Shockley (Joseph) of Vienna, and Miki Maupin-O'Brien of Jefferson City; brother, Ken Dickrader (Judy) of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Katie Shockley (Jared Cook), Bailey McCully (Shadd Veasman), Boone Teel, Timothy Shockley, Aidan O'Brien, and Grady O'Brien; and two great-grandchildren on the way. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Bill Nigus officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be in Portland Cemetery.
