Joy Fitzpatrick, 62, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri from complications of COVID. She was born June 7, 1958 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Johnson) Colter. On November 20, 1989 in Miami, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Rodney Fitzpatrick, who survives of the home. Each day Joy would whistle for her pet turtles and they would come to her to be fed every morning. She enjoyed golf, pickle ball, the beach, collecting seashells, swimming and hanging around the pool. She never knew a stranger and was a friend to all she met. Other survivors include: son, Joshua Opel (Anne) of Texas; mother, Anna Colter of Jefferson City; sisters, Lori Rackers of Bonnots Mill, Jan Barnhill of N.H., Cheryl Kinkade of Russellville; and granddaughters, Ava and Gwen. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers-in- law. A celebration of her life will be planned for a later date. Memorials in her name are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
