Marjorie Elizabeth Rupp Dampf, 88, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020. Marjorie was born April 20, 1932 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of the late John C. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Clohessy) Rupp. She was married on August 11, 1956 in Chillicothe, Missouri to Dr. Roy William Dampf, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1995. A resident of Jefferson City for most of her life, Marjorie was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy High School in Chillicothe, Missouri and a 1954 graduate of Mount Saint Scholastica College in Atchison, Kansas. Following college, Marjorie taught in Kansas City, Kansas and Chillicothe, Missouri. After marriage she was a loving wife and mother. Marjorie was devoted to her faith, family, and community. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and participated in many religious groups including the Daughters of Isabella, Guadalupe Circle, and was a Lady of the Holy Sepulcher. Marjorie was active in many social, civic, and community organizations including the Tuesday Club, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Environmental Quality Commission. In support of her husband's dental practice, Marjorie helped form the Jefferson City Dental Auxiliary and was a president of the Missouri Dental Association Women's Auxiliary. She volunteered in many charitable organizations including the Girl Scouts, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, Council of Clubs, X Club, and Jefferson City United Way Board of Directors. Marjorie was energetic and lived life to the fullest. She had many interests and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, reading, and playing the piano. Marjorie loved going to new places and traveled to over 60 countries. Some of her adventures included snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, going on a safari in Africa, and snowmobiling in Yellowstone National Park. She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Christianson of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Elizabeth Smith and her husband Kevin of Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren, Joshua Christianson, Elizabeth Oxley, Kristen Keglovits and her husband Joshua, Ryan Smith and his wife Katherine, and Sean Christianson; three great-grandchildren, Michaela Oxley, Gabriel Christianson, and Ellie Keglovits; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Roy William Dampf; two brothers, John "Johnny" Rupp and David Rupp; and her son-in-law, David Christianson. Visitation will be at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 2305 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Missouri from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. and then entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, 3015 West Truman Boulevard, Jefferson City, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be broadcast live at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 on the Millard Family Chapels Facebook Page. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy may be made to Birthright, Samaritan Center, or a charity of choice.
