Jean "Jeanie" Patrice Hoerschgen

Jean "Jeannie" Patrice Hoerschgen, 66, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Boone Hospital Center. She was born on December 17, 1953, in Grinnell, Iowa, a daughter of the late William "Pat" and Dorothy (State) Murphy. She was united in marriage to David Hoerschgen, November 10, 1980, in Jefferson City. Jeannie was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson City High School. For many years she worked for the State of Missouri before leaving to pursue other interests. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and reading a good book. What she loved the most was creating memories with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 39 years: David Hoerschgen; children: Allison and Nathan Hoerschgen; grandchildren: Lester and Aubree Hoerschgen; brother: Larry Murphy; and sister: Joan Smith (Neal). In keeping with the guidelines of the CDC, the family will be holding a private service. Friends can be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12: 00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. When you come on the parking lot at the funeral home you will remain in your car and be directed around to the front Portico at Houser Millard Funeral Home. You will be shown where to stop under the Portico to view through the picture window. This will help accommodate family and friends in a safe manner and will be a way to show your respect in these unusual times.
