Daniel George Scheulen

Daniel George Scheulen, age 70, of Meta, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at his home. He was born in St. Elizabeth on December 9, 1949, son of the late George and Elizabeth Marie (Schaffer) Scheulen. On July 27, 1968, in Meta, Daniel married Donna Jean Dubbert, who preceded him in death on December 29, 2017. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time fishing, hunting and farming. He shared his passion for the outdoors with his grandchildren, who brought so much joy to his life. Daniel worked for MODOT for over 35 years and was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. He is survived by one son, Ben Scheulen and wife Kara of Meta; two grandchildren, Drew and Elise Scheulen; three sisters, Geraldine Berry (Gerald) of Dixon, Dianna Schubert (Ron) of Meta, and Linda Pace (David) of Holts Summit; three brothers, Raymond Scheulen (Sherri) of Kila, Mont., Richard Scheulen of Meta, and Melvin Scheulen (Beverly) of Meta; mother-in-law, Evelyn Dubbert; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents and loving wife, Donna, he was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary Danielle Scheulen; two sisters, Genevieve Branch and Jeannette Ripka; and one brother, Kenneth "Dick" Scheulen. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. The general public is welcome to attend the graveside service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Cecilia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
