Alvin Lewis Onger, 94, of Holts Summit, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Heisinger Bluffs. He was born on August 31, 1925 in Jefferson City, Missouri, son of William and Emma (Keller) Onger. He was united in marriage to Beulah Walker on March 19, 1949 in Cedar City, Missouri. Alvin attended Jefferson City High School. He was enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a truck driver with various companies from 1950 to 1960. He became an iron worker with the Local Union #396 from 1960 to retirement in 1977. Alvin attended First Baptist Church in Cedar City and was a past member of Teamsters Local #833. He enjoyed spending time doing yard work and watching westerns. Alvin's long-time companion, Bitsy, was the love of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years: Beulah; children: Joyce J. Pardoe (Ronnie) of Latham and Linda Branch (Dennis) of Russellville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, son: Larry Onger; and siblings: William, Marvin, John, Jack, Elsie, Ethel, Lorene, Nadine and Aileen. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
