James "Jim" R. Cardwell

James "Jim" R. Cardwell, 86 of Eldon, Mo. passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his residence in Eldon, Mo. He was born September 16, 1933 in Ulman, Mo., the son of the late Fred and Grace (Patterson) Cardwell. On May 23, 1956 in Miller County, Mo. he was united in marriage to Connie (Gier) Cardwell, who survives of the home. Jim served in the United States Air Force for 10 years. He was baptized in the Ulman Christian Church of Ulman, Mo. He was employed with many sign companies and as a welder in the central Missouri area for many years. Other survivors include: Son, Rick Cardwell (June) of Russellville, Mo.; daughter, Lana Jo McPheeters (Mike) of Eldon, Mo.; four grandsons, Justin Cardwell, Andrew Cardwell, Kyle McPheeters and Kory McPheeters (Rachel); two great- granddaughters, Ella Cardwell and Ava Cardwell; sister, Barbara Hutchison of California, Mo.; and nephew, Larry Kallenbach. Two brothers, one sister, three half-brothers and five half-sisters preceded him in death. Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo. with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Chris Connell officiating. Burial will follow at Gott Cemetery of Ulman, Mo. with Full Military Honors presented by the Eldon VFW Post 2442. Memorials in his name are suggested to Gott Cemetery of Ulman, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
