Sylvia M. Schulte

Sylvia M. Schulte, 96, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Sylvia was born on December 30, 1923, in Taos, Mo., the daughter of Anton and Francis (Brogan) Stegeman. She married Sylvester "Wes" Schulte on June 30, 1948, in Taos, Mo. Sylvia worked in a defense plant during the war years before marrying her husband of 60 years, and worked as a cook in the Center School District in Kansas City, Mo. until she retired. Sylvia was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City until the last 10 years as a member of S.S. Philip and James in Phillipsburg, Kan. Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Lower and husband Ron (Phillipsburg, Kan.); daughter, Roberta Adkins and husband Terry (Lee's Summit, Mo.); son, Rick Schulte and wife Cheryl (Sterling, Colo.); five grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 9, at Our Lady of the Presentation Church in Lee's Summit, Mo. Inurnment will be a family service at Leavenworth National Cemetery Leavenworth, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Kansas Central Library Talking Books Program or to Hospice Services Inc. of Phillipsburg, Kan.
