Harold Francis Kuster, 94, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at St. Joseph Bluffs. He was born June 1, 1925, in Linn, Missouri, the son of the late John S. and Minnie (Franken) Kuster. He was a 1943 graduate of Linn High School. Harold enlisted in the United States Navy from 1944-1946. He was united in marriage on September 6, 1947, in Bonnots Mill to Ruth Florence Vogel, who preceded him in death on August 22, 2009. Ruth was the love of his life. They enjoyed being together and sharing time with family and friends. Harold was lost without Ruth by his side. Harold enjoyed his career with the Missouri Department of Transportation from 1947-1988, retiring as senior inspector. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Survivors include two children, James Douglas (Betty) Kuster, Columbia; Marilyn (Steve) Schneider, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, David (Shanna) Kuster, Robert Kuster, Lisa Susanne Porter, Monica (Jay) Miller, Jeff (Amy) Schneider; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Kuster, Elaina Kuster, Josie Kuster, Kaitlyn Kuster, Hailey Kuster, Branden Porter, Cole Lethert; two siblings, Laurissa Reynolds, Hermann; Joe Kuster, Jefferson City; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Marie Kuster, Linn. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandson, Michael Scott Kuster; four sisters, Ruth Yontz, Esther Reynolds, Mary Luebbert, Catherine Paschal; and two brothers, Jim Kuster and John Kuster. Visitation will be 12-1 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, Cathedral of St. Joseph, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
